Senna leaf extract is the dried senna Cassia acutifolia Delile or pointed leaf senna Cassia angustifolia
Dry leaves are used as raw materials, and commercial extracts are often standardized to contain 3% and 5% of total sennosides.
Main ingredients
The marker components are sennoside A and B (Sennoside A and B are stereoisomeric to each other). Sennoside C and D (Sennoside C and D, the two are stereoisomeric to each other), Aloe emodin bisanthrone glycoside, rhein mngoBide, rhein (Rhdn). Aloe rhubarb (Afoeemodin). Production process
Crush Senna leaf into coarse powder, extracted with water at 70~80℃,get extracts, concentrated in a centrifugal thin film evaporator (below 45/) to about 10 baume (heat test), the concentration process cannot exceed 2 hours, the temperature can not exceed 60 ℃.
Spray dry. By this process, extract contains about 3% sennoside, and the yield rate is about 10%.

Dosage
Senna leaf extract is taken orally. It is absorbed by the stomach and small intestine, transformed into effective active ingredients in the body, and circulates through the blood to reach the large intestine, resulting in diarrhea due to the propelling movement of the large intestine.
For cleansing the intestines: In the United Kingdom, a single dose of oral total senna for adults is calculated based on sennoside B is 1 mg/kg, about 72 mg;
For constipation treatment:in the United States, calculated on the basis of bogeyside, oral intake of more than 158 mg is used to treat in the United Kingdom, Oral total sennoside is calculated based on sennoside B. The single oral dose for adults is 15-30 mg. For children over 6 years old, the dose is reduced by half. For 2-6 years old, the dose is reduced by 1.5 times.
Out of 98 cathartic agents that were on the market in Germany in 1991, 40% preparations contains sennoside.
