Gardenia Yellow is a natural water soluble carotenoid with strong coloring power and can be used as a food additive.
Food industry:
1.Gardenia Yellow pigment can inhibit 80% oxidation of linoleic acid, so it can be used as an antioxidant in food processing;
2.It is also thermal stable. Under the conditions of 80 ℃ for 120 minutes, the residual pigment can reach as high as 85% .
3.Under visible light (40lun -700nln) range, it is stable , but it turns affected by the wavelength range of 250nm-390nm . That makes it a all- A player as an antioxidant and coloring agent in the food industry.
4.The Gardenia Yellow colorant is basically unchanged in the pH range of 4-11, it also keeps stable to metal ions.

Fabrics dyeing
Studies have shown the dyeing properties of natural gardenia yellow on silk fabrics. The results show that it is the pigment amount that has the greatest effect on the dyeing result, Post-mordant dyeing is suitable for gardenia yellow . Compared with direct dyeing, the color of post-mordant dyed fabrics has no obvious change. Except for the light fastness not exceeding 3, the other fastnesses are basically above 4.

Pharmaceutical industry:
In addition to its pigmented ingredients, the yellow pigment contains a certain amount of crocetin with high medical value, such as blood circulation, invigorating blood circulation, anti-fatigue, pain relief, and blood pressure reduction. It can be applied to the pharmaceutical industry.
