In May, Barcelona basked in warm sunshine and a gentle sea breeze. When Gaudí's fantastical architectural lines met the wave of innovation sweeping the global nutrition and health industry, a major industry event-Vitafoods Europe 2025-grandly opened at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via exhibition center. As the "barometer" exhibition for the nutritional supplements and functional foods sectors in Europe and beyond, this year marks Vitafoods' first move from Geneva, Switzerland, to Barcelona, Spain. With its expanded scale and high attendance, the event has become the focal point of industry attention, offering global professionals a feast of cutting-edge technology, trend insights, and business opportunities.
The three-day event (May 20–22) attracted over 25,500 trade visitors from more than 120 countries, as well as over 1,400 leading global exhibitors. The exhibition area spanned 75,000 square meters, a 25% increase from the previous edition. From raw material giants and innovative tech companies to finished product brands, participants across the entire industry chain gathered under one roof, filling the exhibition halls with an electrifying atmosphere and allowing every attendee to deeply feel the industry's vibrant vitality.
Upon entering the exhibition hall, the first thing to strike visitors was its unprecedented scale and international atmosphere. Every corner buzzed with enthusiasm for collaboration and sparks of innovation. Compared to previous editions, this year's event not only set a new record for the number of exhibitors but also featured a more scientific and refined layout-from the core ingredient and finished product zones to the newly added Nutraceutical Showcase Theatre and Women's Health Spotlight, as well as the pet nutrition section and new product launch area, comprehensively covering every segment of the nutrition and health industry.
This year's exhibition featured standout highlights and clear trends:
- Gut health remains a hot topic, with continuous upgrades to new products such as probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics, placing greater emphasis on safety, stability, and targeted efficacy.
- Women's health is receiving significant attention, with nutritional formulations becoming more specialized to address the needs of different age groups and specific requirements, focusing on emotional well-being, sleep, skin care, and menopause management.
- Convenience, great taste, and natural ingredients have become mainstream. There is a growing number of gummy candies, beverages, and snack-style nutritional products, featuring more natural ingredients and more eco-friendly, sustainable packaging.
At the exhibition, we engaged in face-to-face discussions with global clients and suppliers to understand market demands, learn about cutting-edge technologies, promote our products and strengths, and reach multiple cooperation agreements. There is a growing recognition of the quality and innovation capabilities of Chinese nutritional and health products, and communication was very smooth.
