The whole linseed or flaxseed powder contains 40% fat, 20% protein, 25% dietary fiber, 5% carbohydrates, and 0.9%-1.5% lingnans. Therefore it is a typical high-fat, low-carbonhyrate food.
There was no significant change in peroxide value and fatty acid composition when hulled flaxseed was heated at 100°C (212°F) and 350°C (662°F) for 60 minutes, respectively, indicating its thermal stability. Furthermore, gas-liquid chromatography showed that no new trans-linolenic acid trans-isomers or cyclic fatty acids were found in the samples subjected to these temperatures.
The function of flax extract lignans is to mediate the concentration of estrogen in the human body: weak estrogenic effect and anti-estrogenic effect.
That is, when the concentration of estrogen is high, SDG antagonizes estrogen; when the concentration of estrogen is low, SDG plays the role of estrogen.
