About Ginseng herb

The ginseng raw materials used in our extracts are mainly sourced from Jilin. The ginseng used in ginseng extract is generally about five years old. Ginseng stem and leaf extract, raw material with short time, low content in stem and leaf, can not meet the requirements of extract content in pharmacopoeia. Ginseng root extract uses the root of ginseng, mainly because the content of the root is high, the market price of the main root raw material is high, and the extraction cost is too high.

There are also different product names depending on the place. Korean and North Korean ginseng is called Korean ginseng.

A fast look at Asian Ginseng (leaf or root) extract & American Ginseng (leaf or root) extract

Here is common specification for the Asian Ginseng and American Ginseng extract

Specifications: 5%-80% assayed by UV

5%-45% HPLC detection Detect the sum of 7 monomer components.

It is stipulated in ChP that total 7 monomers, that is Re, Rg1, Rf, Rb1, Rb2, Rd, Rc are caculated as the total ginsenosides.


Color: pale yellow to yellowish white. The color is mainly related to the fineness, the higher the mesh requirement, the lighter the color of the product. Odor: Slightly odorous.

Ginseng extract tastes extremely bitter. The ginseng extract proves to absorb moisture, please keep in sealed package.


How to extract

Solvent: It is soluble in methanol ,ethanol, water. Both extract with water or ethanol solvent dissovles well in water. Comparatively speaking, the ethanol extracted ginseng powder dissolve less than water extract, it is because that the lipid substances dissolves in ethanol inside.

How to identify the extracted 80% ginsenosides source

1)Re+rg1+rd>30% that must be made from ginseng stem and leaves.

2)Rb3>3%, total ginsenosides accounts 35%-40%, that is extracted from American ginseng stems and leaves

3)Rb3>10% , that must be made from Panax notoginseng stems and leaves

4) The spectrum of Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract cannot show the peaks of Gensenosides.
